Backlight Panel Size and Contour Detection

Size and contour inspection software for tablet backlight panels after assembly, where dimensional inspection is difficult. After tilt correction, feature-region extraction and character gray-value adjustment, an adaptive-threshold method based on gray-density distribution and gray difference traverses the feature regions as sub-images, merging overlapping defect sub-images and filtering out regions without obvious defects. A multi-class support vector machine then identifies the backlight-panel defect types, trained on the pixel-distribution patterns of the binary images.

Dimensional AOI machines for tablet parts (3D animation)

3D-animated presentation of four dimensional-measurement machines for tablet parts, including backlight-panel outline and gap measurement and line-laser flatness measurement. The film walks through loading, 2D inspection, 3D line-laser scanning, OK/NG sorting and unloading.

Highlights

  • Dimensions and appearance inspected at the same time

  • Strong compatibility: one machine inspects five products and handles different sizes

  • Stable operation: 11k inspections per day without machine faults

  • Fast: CT = 6.5 s/pcs

Typical application

Tablet backlight-panel component production lines
